Evander Hospital is taking responsibility

The complaints the board receive is a way for them to improve their service and that the board does their best to address the situation of the problem.

EVANDER – Two women from Newcastle, Ms Goinokuhle Zwane and Ntando Mawusu, visited the Evander Hospital for the first time and said the service is one of the best they know.

Other patients who went to this hospital, however, complained about the lack of hygiene at the hospital, the waiting hours in the administrative hall and the security guards who chase them away after visiting hours.

“The cleanness of the hospital is one of our biggest concerns and it is one of the staff’s top priority to work in a clean and safe environment and the waiting hours in the administrative area depends on the treatment the patient seeks,” said Mr Bernard Mnisi, chairman of the hospital board.

“The security guards find it difficult to manage the number of people entering the hospital when they bring a sick or injured patient over weekends.

“Visiting hours are there for a reason and we ask that the community realises the important task of the security guards,”

“The complaints that the board receive is a way for us to improve our service and the board does its best to address the problems,” said Mr Mnisi.
