SECUNDA – According to a spokesman from Highveld Park High School, the school is not going to close down.
Rumours allegedly went around stating that the school will close.
The spokesman said the school is already full for next year with approximately 740 pupils already enrolled.
Highveld Park High School caters for pupils from Grade 8 to 12.
This school’s vision is to strive towards developing the excellence of each individual’s talents in learning and teaching, thus empowering each one to contribute towards the upliftment of South Africa’s nation.
It is a multi-cultural school and they also strive to help each pupil to prepare for life so that he or she may develop his or her unique personal and intellectual potential to the fullest and take his or her place as a responsible citizen and leader in an evolving South Africa.
This school promotes all career-orientated subjects in order to create more job opportunities to educate pupils holistically in the psychological, mental and physical fields.

Highveld Park High School is the only high school in Secunda with a hostel that caters for boys and girls and they also have a hall that can be rented for functions.
They also offer accommodation to contractors and their hostel is fully operational.
They are the only school in the region that offers dance as a subject and their dancers excelled recently at the South African Dance Championships when most of them took medals home.
They also had a 100 per cent passing rate with dancing as a subject and Highveld Park High School hosted the Mpumalanga Dance Championships this year.
Pupils can learn more than 25 types of dancing styles from Hip Hop to ballroom dancing.
Highveld Park High School also has a gospel band and a school Christian association.
They won the Green Cage award five times for their echo friendly projects.
They offer a mini matric farewell to their Grade 11 pupils that includes dinner for the parents as well.
This school also excels on the sport fields with five athletes that were chosen for the South African Cross Country Championships, pupils to take part in the South African Netball Championships and the South African Hockey Championships.
Some of their pupils were selected for the Gert Sibande Chess Team and the school hosted a visual arts exhibition for their art pupils.
They also offered pupils for camps this year which included the representative council of pupils camp, the Green Cage Camp, the management council of pupils camp and a netball camp.
