Man charged with sexual assault on 12-year-old
A young girl was sexually assaulted by a man known to her.
A 12-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man, known to her, during the school holidays in July.
The victim, as well as her sister, were travelling with the man to Limpopo.
On the way there, the perpetrator allegedly touched her inappropriately.
She told her father the following day and he promised to speak to the suspect.
Her teacher recognised she seemed different at school and asked her what had happened.
The victim told her teacher and the teacher spoke to her parents.
The Standerton Police arrested the suspect who recently appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court.
Const Leon Lintnaar of the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is investigating the case.
According to Const Lintnaar the next court date has not been set, because the witnesses did not appear in court on the previous occasions.
