Snako gets ready for varsity

“It is time for me to grow up and I will go out there and make my parents more proud of me.”

EVANDER – Hard work, tenacity and integrity always produce good results, according to the four distinctions achiever Sinakokonke Mkhanya of Hoërskool Evander.

Sinakhokonke obtained distinctions in afrikaans, accounting, life science and life orientation during the 2014 matric end exams.

Though Sinakhokonke was expecting much better results, she is happy with the outcome.

“I have done my best to obtain these results and I am grateful.”

She said her parents always encourage her to be focused and to invest more time in her studies and helped her to be able to distinguish between school time and her social life.

Sinakokonke was among the pupils who received Sasol 2014 top matric achievers awards on Friday, 16 January.

“Receiving that award humbled me.

“I saw God rewarding me for all my hard work throughout the year.

“I hope it will open many doors for me.”

She will be studying charted accounting at the Wits Witwaterstrand University.

Though she has mixed emotions about it because it will be her first time living without her parents. Sinakhokonke however said she is ready to take on the challenge.

“It is time for me to grow up and I will go out there and make my parents more proud of me.”
