EVANDER – Hoërskool Evander High School teachers received several merit awards for the Govan Mbeki municipal area in recognition of achievements in mathematics for the Grade 12 Class of 2014.
The principal, Mr Leon Harmse, and Ms Rene Blunk received a certificate and a trophy on behalf of the school for the most improved school in mathematics with a pass rate of 88.8 per cent, as well as for physical science.
Mr Sebastian Abraham and Ms Hylien de Jonge were appointed as the best mathematics teachers in the Govan Mbeki municipal area and each received tablets as a token of appreciation.
Shaun Sebatian, the son of Mr Abraham Sebastian, was appointed as the pupil who achieved the highest marks (97%) for mathematics during the Grade 12 final examination.
