The accident occurred about 100 metres from the New Denmark turn-off on the Ermelo Road.
“I was on my way to Standerton from Arnot Power Station when it happened,” Mr Willem Herbst, the driver of the white car, said.
“It was raining quite hard and a truck was coming from Standerton and when it passed, I could not see anything in front of me.
“That is when the car in front of me slammed on the brakes and I drove into him because I had no time to react.”
