Taxi driver pleads not guilty
12 people died in a horrific accident.
Mr Tsepang Matloung, the taxi driver, who was charged with murder, fraud and reckless driving, appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 23 April.
He faces 12 counts of culpable homicide after 12 occupants died as a result of the accident.
11 people died on the scene and another in the Standerton Hospital three days later.
The accident occurred on the road between Standerton and Perdekop on 6 October last year.
The driver apparently skipped a stop and go construction site and collided with an oncoming truck.
Mr Matloung pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been remanded for trial on 5 June.
