CPF nabs suspect involved in ATM scam

CPF apprehended a suspect involved in an ATM scam.

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) apprehended a suspect on 30 April who was involved in an ATM scam.

According to the CPF, two fraudsters allegedly tried to scam a man who was withdrawing money from Standard Bank at the Caltex filling station.

One of them told the man the ATM system has changed and offered to help and the other one saw his pin number when he withdrew the money.

The bank card got stuck in the machine and the one fraudster fled the scene.

The other suspect, who saw the pin number, tried to run away, but was caught.

The CPF took him to the Standerton Police Station.

They are still looking for the other con man.
