Road Crete robbed, police arrest suspects

A Road Crete construction camp on the R23 on the Johannesburg Road was robbed on 3 May.

According to Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, spokesman of the Standerton Police, about seven men overpowered security staff and tied them up.

“The police received a tip-off from the public and the vehicle was found at a stop and go construction site on the same road,” Lt Nhlabathi said.

“Two suspects were arrested on the scene and the other thieves managed to escape.”

“At the same stop and go, another truck stopped and the two occupants ran away,” he also said.
