Nyovest entertains locals
Casper Nyovest’s perfomance at Graceland Casino won the hearts of many hip hop music fans.
SECUNDA – Local hip hop music fans enjoyed the performance of Casper Nyovest at Graceland Casino on Friday, 1 May.
This was his first performance in the area and he shared the stage with local artists.
He shot into fame in 2013 when he released “Gusheshe” as the first official single from his debut album, Tsholofelo.
The single was well received and play listed on various radio stations in South Africa.
It was accompanied by a music video, which premiered on Vuzu’s V-Entertainment.
Right after Gusheshe, he released his second single titled Doc Shebeleza which saw him gain major success.
The song peaked at number 4 on South Africa’s official music chart.
In October 2014, Nyovest was ranked number 1 on The Hottest MC in Africa list by MTV Base.
He was also ranked number 2 on MTV Base’s SA’s Hottest MC list.
In the METRO FM Music Awards 2014, he won five awards including Song of the Year, Best Hip Hop Album, Best Male Album, Best Hit Single and Listener’s Choice Award.
