Burglars break open safe in Secunda KFC
Burglars managed to open the petty cash safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
SECUNDA – The police suspect burglars gained entry through the drive-thru window of the KFC in Horwood Street in the CBD on Thursday, 7 May.
They managed to open the petty cash safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
The burglars had tried to also open another three safes, but failed.
They apparantly also damaged the surveillance camera.
Security services noticed movement when the alarm went off at about 1am.
The burglary apparently took place shortly after the KFC had closed.
Police officials arrived and suspected the burglars might still be in the roof.
The K9 Unit of the Secunda Police was called in, but ascertained the burglars had left.
Mr Andrew Curry, branch manager, said he was relieved that none of his staff was present when the burglary took place.
