Mr Jay Pillay has had an uphill battle with the Lekwa Municipality concerning his water supply for the past 10 years.
Mr Pillay, who lives at the Capriona and Wingfield Street intersection in the Stanfield Hill area, has completely exhausted all available resources to be granted the basic human right, water.
He has in the past been told by the municipality that he has water.
“On hearing this I told them to come check themselves because maybe I do not know how to open a tap correctly,” Mr Pillay said.
According to him a water truck makes its rounds every few days, but it takes numerous phone calls to remind them to come.
He calls three numbers to make sure that in the event of two forgetting, hopefully one will respond.
