UPDATE: eMba boy loses both legs in horrific accident

Matome now breaths on his own.

Matome Malatsi is still in the ICU at the Mediclinic Highveld, but is now breathing on his own.

His aunt, Ms Khandyu Maseko, said: “This is a good sign and we trust he will recover completely from the accident.”

The suspects will appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court this morning and will apply for bail.

 

 

eMBALENHLE – A boy of nine lost both his legs during a horrific accident yesterday.

According to eyewitnesses a car was driving very fast and the driver allegedly lost control of it.

The car hit Matume Malatsi and then crashed into a house.

Matume Malatsi was playing with friends when the incident happened.

“I heard a loud explosion and ran to see what was happening and realised that Matume was hurt,” said one of his friends.

The driver and his four passengers, including a woman, were beaten by residents before the police arrived.

They were arrested and taken to the eMbalenhle Police Station.

A critically injured Matume was admitted to the Mediclinic Highveld.

Both his legs were later found in the rubble in the house.
