Update on eMzinoni evictions: three kids are lost
About 800 Red Ants arrived this morning to evict residents in extension 23.

Bethal Police said three children got lost during today’s evictions in eMzinoni and were taken to the police station.
Their shacks were destroyed and the children could not find either their homes or their parents.
Const Cynthia Mtsweni, police spokesman, said parents must ensure their children are with them at all times.
“Parents whose children went missing, must come to the Bethal Police Station.”

About seven residents were admitted to the Bethal Hospital.
This came after residents threw a stone at the Red Ants.
It is alleged that they fired rubber bullets at the mob.
Mr Mlungisi Masina said he was hit and a group of the Red Ants attacked him.
He said after beating him, they stole his phone and money.
He sustained injuries to the head and legs and he intends to open a case with the police.

A 27 -year -old women collapsed while the Red Ants were breaking down her shack.
Paramedics assisted her and she was taken to Bethal Hospital.
Const Cynthia Mtsweni, police spokesman said she thinks the women was overwhelmed by the evictions.
As the action continue, many are left homeless.

Police vehicles surrounded the area.
Angry residents carrying sticks and stones, confronted the police to found out what is happening.
Brig Mouth, Secunda cluster commander, is leading the action.
