eMba without water over weekend
Residents say municipality should not bill them for the days they were without water.
eMBALENHLE – Residents of Extension 12 have been without water from Friday, 19 June.
Some said they only noticed that there is a possibility of not having water for the whole weekend when they saw municipal workers driving around with water tanks.
One resident said when she asked one of the ward committee member, she was told that the water will only be back on Monday.
Some residents said they appreciate the efforts made by the municipality to supply water.
“It does not help to keep on complaining, sometimes we must just appreciate the municipality’s efforts because if the problem is too big, they cannot solve it in one day.”
Others said they are disappointed because should residents fail to pay for services, Council simply cuts the electricity, but if the municipality is at fault, “it is fine”.
Some said the municipality should not bill them for the days they were without water.
The municipality could not be reached for comment.
