Kinross police officer shoots best friend

KINROSS – A local policeman allegedly shot his best friend on Monday, 29 June during an argument.

It happened in Area 25 at around midnight in the yard of a house where both the suspect and his friend lived.

Mr Wonderboy Skosana (29) was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics.

The suspect allegedly used a police firearm.

He was disarmed and arrested on the scene.

A resident said he was shocked, because he knew both men and they were best friends.

Kinross Police Station spokesman, Sgt Matselane Nhlapo, confirmed that the suspect was arrested and a case of murder was opened.

He appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 30 June.
