Kinross gets a new school

Construction phase of the school is estimated at R2.5 million.

Kinross Mission School is building a new school that will provide a world class education curriculum and create employment for the local community.

The turning of the sod took place on Tuesday, 23 June by the founders of the school, Mr Chris and Ms Sylvia Jordan, and the sponsor Sandvic.

The school was established under the umbrella of Living Waters Ministries 21 years ago and is currently operating in the Afghanistan informal settlement outside Kinross.

The school was founded with the purpose of reaching out to meet the basic needs of the poor, the needy and neglected families and children.

The founders of the church said their aim was to restore respect and dignity among the poor.

The school currently has 78 children aged 3-7 years old.

The construction phase of the school is estimated at R2.5 million and aims at creating permanent employment for at least 15 local staff and the building project will also create an estimated 85 jobs.

Those who would like to know more about the organisation or contribute to the running of the school, can send an email to kinrossmissionschool@gmail.com.
