eMba Police arrest nine illegal immigrants
Suspect commit various crimes.
Two Lesotho nationals were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition yesterday.
They are 30 and 28 years old and appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court today on charges of possession of firearms and ammunition and for being illegal immigrants.
The 28-year-old man had a 7.65 pistol (8 rounds) of which the serial number was filed off with 8 rounds.
The 30-year-old man was found with a 9mm Norinco with 12 rounds.
Upon investigation it was established that the firearm was reported stolen in Boibatong.
Three other men were arrested for different cases.
A 29-year-old suspect was arrested for business robbery, house robbery and attempted robbery and an 18-year-old who was wanted for car hijacking.
Both are expected to appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Another man (30) was arrested for business robbery in eMba and housebreaking in Kriel.
He was transferred to Kriel.
One suspect aged 24 was arrested for possession of dagga and will appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court today.
Nine illegal Lesotho nationals were also arrested.
