‘Locals can not be employed without taking the first step of applying’
“We have formed forums in these companies that will ensure that no corruption occurs.”
The South African Nation Civic Organisation (Sanco) requested all the unemployed people to use available opportunities.
“It is unfortunate that most unemployed people do not use their opportunities,” Mr Nicholas Selepe, Lekwa zonal convener, said.
According to them they have been approaching companies around Standerton to prioritise locals when there are vacancies.
He said most of the companies have agreed to hire local people, but locals are not using these opportunities.
“We have formed forums in these companies, that will ensure that no corruption occurs,” Mr Selepe said.
He also said they also made agreements with these companies to give opportunities to local companies.
“Local companies should also submit applications for them to be prioritised.”
According to him locals can not be employed without taking the first step of applying.
“The number of unemployed people is high and we want everyone to have an income.”
