Community plans to march

However Sanco does not believe that the municipality has explained to the people how the smart meters are going to work.

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) held a community meeting to discuss the installation of smart meters in Lekwa Municipality.

The meeting was held at Nyandeni Primary School in Sakhile on Sunday 11 October.

The Standerton Taxi Association, PAC and other locally-based organisations attended.

The organisations want to march in protest against the installation of smart meters on 19 October.
