iKhethelo pupils pray for the finals

Pupils say: “We have been prayed for and it is now our responsibility to study and perform well.”

eMZINONI – Pupils from various secondary schools in the area held a Grade 12 exam prayer day at iKhethelo Secondary School on Thursday, 15 October.

It was hosted by Sesifikile Youth Structure, the Sesifikile Development Centre and the National Association of School Governing Bodies.

It was aimed at spiritually uplifting pupils before they begin with their 2015 final exams.

Mr Phiri, member of National Association of School Governing Bodies, said some pupils often face demonic attacks, illness and other stumbling blocks during their final exams.

He said the prayer day was held to ask for God’s intervention during this time and to ask God to give pupils wisdom.

“The prayer will be able to block and chain evil that might come your way.

“Trust in the Lord as you prepare for your exams and know that He will carry you through.

“You are the future leaders and we are expecting a lot from you guys.”

Past Themba Xaba and Past Mandla Gumede preached and prayed for the pupils.

Nondumiso Mahlangu, a pupil from iKhethelo Secondary School, thanked the organisers and the pastors who prayed for them.

“Exams can be difficult and one can easily give up, but I believe that the prayers that have be rendered are going to help us when things become tough.

“We have been prayed for and it is now our responsibility to study and perform well.”
