Angry residents take up safety concerns with Transnet

Frustrated community members held a meeting about the crime they witness daily near the train station in Standerton.

According to them, thieves from Sakhile rob and attack people going to town or coming back, which leads to them not feeling safe anymore.

A large number people from Sakhile, Rooikoppen and Azalea use the dark and unsafe bridge to get to town by foot.

According to residents, this area is where most of them get robbed and stabbed.

Ms Mapaseka Molaba and Ms Dorcus Rakitla of the SACP engaged with the community and also liaised with Transnet.
