Break-in at flats

Five of the six flats were broken into.

Thieves broke into a block of flats in De la Rey Street in Meyerville on 2 December showing total disregard for the sun shining brightly outside.

Thus far it seems as though most of the tenants’ plasma televisions were stolen as well as two laptops.

Police are currently taking statements from those affected.

Kasselman Security Services and the Standerton Police are on the scene.
According to a security guard of Kasselman, local thieves will usually cool their heels for three days before peddling the goods to a pawnshop, but thieves, not from town, quickly leave.
Pawnshops should be on the lookout for any stolen goods that might end up there.

  • The stolen items include a laptop Acer & Samsung S3 (flat 1), LG 50” plasma television and white Samsung notebook (flat 2), Sony Bravia 20” television and white Lacoste sneakers (flat 3), plasma Polestar television 32” and two wrist watches (flat 4) and plasma LG 42” television and purple floral mink blanket (flat 5).
