The provincial Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison held a roadblock on the R23 Ermelo Road last Saturday from 11am.
The aim was to reduce fatalities on the roads during the festive season.
The roadworthiness of cars were tested and licences of both vehicles and motorists checked.

The Standerton Police, local and provincial traffic officers, Tourism Safety Monitors (TSM) and employees of the Road Accident Fund were in attendance.
Mr Richard Ngwenya (TSM) said too many accidents occur on the R23 and believes roadblocks play a role in safety.
