Little Harvard ready for open day

Centre offers 24 hour and seven days a week service.

SECUNDA – The CEO of Little Harvard Day Care Centre, Ms Lucia Mashaba, said they are ready to welcome new and existing children.

The centre, which aims at helping working moms and those working shifts, offers a 24 hour, seven days a week service.

The services also include weekend and holiday care.

Ms Mashaba is a B-Tech in chemistry graduate from Vaal University and a former employee of Sasol.

She said the centre takes children from three months to six years full time and also offers after care services for primary school pupils.

The after care pupils are assisted by qualified teachers with homework, projects and also prepare them for tests and examinations.

The centre also has a reading programme, Drop Everything and Start Reading, every Saturday from 9am to 12pm.

The programme was established after they realised that pupils do not fail because they do not know, but because they do not spend much time reading and also not understanding the questions asked.

The centre also has talent search programme.

Little Harvard Day Care Centre is fully registered, has CCTV cameras, security and offer nutritious food to the children.
