Peter is on a mission to remind Christians not to give up.

TRICHARDT – Mr Peter Cairncross has been travelling alone countrywide on his bicycle and a small trailer he had built to complete the mission that Jesus has given him.

Peter has already completed 6 800km on his bicycle.

His personal mission with Jesus began when he could not find a job.

“I began a relationship with Jesus and asked the Lord to make me available and what I can do for Him.

“He told me that I should go around the country and remind Christians not to give up and that He is coming.

“I told God I do not have a car and asked him how I am supposed to travel around the country.

“At that time I was looking for excuses not to go, because I was scared and told God I do not have money for a bicycle,” said told Mr Cairncross.

A woman from his church gave him a bicycle and he had no more excuses to not begin with his travels.

When he arrives in a town, he asks around for a church or any congregation that will allow him to testify.

Mr Cairncross explained: “I do not do this to receive donations or to make money.

“When people offer me a place to stay, money or food, I accept it, but I never ask for anything because I know God will provide for me.

“If I arrive too late, I go to the nearest police station, hospital or camping sight and ask if I could stay there.

“Every day is better than the day before and it is good to travel alone, because you have no one to complain to.”

Mr Cairncross often thinks that he has completed his mission and tells God he is finished after a long expedition, but God has more plans for him every time.

He was given yet another mission to write a book about his travels and how his personal relationship with Jesus has grown.

“Again I asked the Lord how I was supposed to write a book when I have nowhere to stay and I also do not have an income.

“My prayers are answered every time and one of my friends offered that I stay with him and that he and his wife will give me food, a roof over my head and care for me during this time.

“I stayed with them for nearly three months until I had finished writing the book.

“I thought God had run out of plans for me, but the Lord asked me to still travel around the world, because there are people who still need to hear that He has not given up on them and that He is on His way,” said Mr Cairncross.

He visited Trichardt on 14 January and from there travelled to Bethal and he plans to visit Ermelo, Standerton, Middelburg and Polokwane.

He also wrote an E-book that is free and you can read his testimony on www.aridewithjesus.co.za.
