Pupils get new shoes

They approached different companies for donations.

Altogether 55 pupils from Thandeka Primary School recently received new school shoes from Anglo American’s New Denmark Colliery.

A local Non-Profitable Organisation (NPO) named True Butterfly, approached New Denmark after identifying the pupils at local primary schools.

They approached different companies and those willing to help for donations.

The organisation is currently focusing on school shoes and sanitary towels.

According to Ms Angel Khanyile, founder of the organisation, she knows how it feels to be poor.

“I was raised by a single and disabled parent who could not provide in all my needs,” she said.
