Angry parents demand answers

The residents and parents requested the school to get rid of one of the teachers named Ms Nthabiseng Phungwayo, who allegedly assaulted a pupil at school.

A group of frustrated Azalea residents and parents gathered outside Azalea Combined School on 16 February to air their concerns about incidents that apparently happened at the school.

The residents and parents requested the school to get rid of one of the teachers, who allegedly assaulted a pupil at school.

They also called on the School Governing Body (SGB) to resign immediately, saying they are mismanaging school funds.

According to Ms Rayhana Malisa, a concerned resident, some of the teachers address the pupils in Zulu in class.

“Our children must be taught in proper Afrikaans and English,” she said.
