The Lekwa municipal employees met with the ANC councillors, including Mr Linda Dhlamini, Lekwa mayor, Ms Harriet Khota, speaker and Ms Thoko Malinga, ANC chief whip, on 12 February.
This came after South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) members took to the streets and submitted a memorandum with the list of their demands to the municipal offices on 10 February.
According to Mr Dodeni Dhlamini, Samwu member, the councillors have not responded yet.
“They promised that they will respond to all our demands by 23 February,” he said.
