Drinking and driving results in trouble
56 people were arrested for drunken driving.
Members of the National Traffic Police in partnership with municipal traffic officers from Msukaligwa and members of the Ermelo Police joined forces and conducted operation Fiela in Ermelo and Wesselton last weekend.
During the operation, several hot-spots were targeted and 56 people were arrested for drunken driving.
Spokesman for the Ermelo Police, Capt Carla Prinsloo, said the operation focused on certain areas.
Acting Station Commander Maj S. Thela thanked tavern and shebeen owners for their cooperation and closing on time.
