The Govan Mbeki Municipality is eventually going to attend to an electricity pole that has been reported since July last year.
“This pole is in the process of falling down and residents living on both sides of it, said they cross their fingers daily that it does not fall down, especially during a lightning storm,” said Mr George Skosana.
Parents are scared children will play with the cables that are hanging from the pole.
“We all know that children can be naughty. What if they throw something on the pole?“Whose fault is it going to be when someone is hurt?
“I am always worried, even when I am at work,” said a parent.
Mr Bheki Kubheka, senior manager at the office of the municipal manager, said the problem is receiving their full attention and will be attended to this week.
He also said the procedure for reporting complaints, is to report a problem to the Call Centre at 0800 6000 01/2/3/4 or visit the municipal offices in eMbalenhle behind Grillos.
“If the complaint has not been attended to, it can be directed to the office of the supervisor, Mr Lennox Phala, or Mr Elijah Mkhombe, senior technician, for assistance,” said Mr Kubheka.
