Demand for municipal manager to return.
UPDATE: The police have just entered the Council Chambers, while the protesters are singing revolutionary songs.
The new municipal manager, Mr Zwelihle Shongwe from the Msukaligwa Municipality, looked worried during his first Govan Mbeki Council meeting.
The council meeting has now resumed and the draft budget is being discussed.
SECUNDA – Protesters disrupted the Govan Mbeki Municipal Council meeting this afternoon.
They stormed the chambers to demand that the decision to transfer the municipal manager, Mr Mmella Mahlangu, to Msukaligwa Municipality, is revoked.
The outcome of the protest is not yet known.
