Final registration weekend for voters

9 - 10 April is the final registration weekend for voters who wish to register to vote in the municipal election 2016.

This weekend is the final chance to register for the municipal elections.

Voters are also reminded that the voting district boundaries have moved and even if you were registered to vote in the previous election, you might not be registered in the correct district anymore.

To check your registration details, you can:

• Send an SMS with your ID number to 32810 (R1 per SMS).

• Download the IEC mobile app and enter your ID number.

• Check your registration details online at www.elections.org.za.

• Check at your voting station this weekend.

• Check at your local IEC office during office hours.

Grade 12 pupils are encouraged to register.

You can register as soon as you are 16 years old though you can only vote if you are 18 years or older on the date of the election.
