Man viciously gunned down

The bullet-riddled body of a young man, Sanele Msibi (23), was found in his shack in Kayelisha at about 07:00 on Thursday.

He had been shot several times in the chest, stomach and legs.

At least 13 spent cartridge shells were found on the scene.

Police spokesman for Ermelo, Capt Carla Prinsloo, said initial investigations revealed that neighbours had heard gunshots at about 01:00, but were too afraid to investigate.

It was only at daybreak when they saw something was amiss and called the police.

The motive for the killing was not known and no arrests had been made by the time of going to print.
