UPDATE – Kinross resident allegedly attacked by member from Vukta
Members of the Vukta Taxi Association return to eMba.
UPDATE: Leandra Police confirmed that four taxis that belong to Vukta Taxi Association were impounded of which three were later burned.
Who burned these, is not yet clear.
The police cannot yet get passed the barricated area in Lebohang.

UPDATE – Hundreds of Vukta Taxi Association members are parked at Mr Sol Vilakazi’s house in Kinross.
He is a taxi owner from the Vukta Taxi Association. (The Ridge Times apologises for reporting previously that he is from the Zamokuhle Taxi Association)
According to the Ridge Times reporter on the scene, gunshots can be heard.
Kinross residents from Afghanistan and Marikana came out in large numbers in support of Mr Vilakazi.

UPDATE: The Secunda 911 Whatsapp group sent out the following warning:
“Community protest action LESLIE. 17 April. The access routes from and to Lebohang township are closed.
“The situation is tense after taxi conflict. The SAPS is monitoring the situation.
“R50 Road between Standerton and Leslie (across from Lebohang) is blocked. The road between Leslie and Devon (Eendracht road) is also blocked.
“Please don’t use these roads and warn other drivers.”

LEBOHANG – Residents have barricated roads leading to eMbalenhle.
This comes after they have witnessed a fight between two groups at Lebohang Township last night.
The cause of the fight is not yet known, but it is alleged that a taxi that belongs to Zamokuhle Taxi Association was hi-jacked in

eMbalenhle and was damaged.
Another taxi that belongs to Vukta Taxi Association was also hi-jacked and was burned in Lebohang township.
It is alleged that one person was also shot in Lebohang during the fight.
Leandra Police said no charge has been lain yet.
