Secunda residents unhappy about refuse removal

After refuse was removed sidewalks were still littered and garbage was strewn all over.

Locals are still fuming about the state of the town’s sidewalks.

Refuse was piling up and was eventually removed late at night.

“Why is this happening late at night,” asked an angry resident.

“The sidewalks look worse than before the refuse was removed.

“Only the bags were loaded onto the refuse removal truck and the litter was still strewn all over.

“The trucks could be heard until 23pm.”

Mr Bheki Khumalo, senior manager and acting head of Communications and Marketing of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, said: “The matter is still under investigation and I will give feedback once the situation has been fairly investigated.”
