Last year, during the Rammetjie rugby season, Breyten Primary participated in a match held at Morgenzon Landbou Akademie.
During this event, the principal of Breyten Primary, Mr Louis Bates, met the leader of The Word Riders, Francis Sieberhagen, and invited him to visit his school.
Word Riders are group of Christian motorbike enthusiasts who travel to different parts of South Africa annually for Bible distribution.
Breyten Primary School received a phone call from Past Sieberhagen earlier in September, wanting to visit the school to distribute Bibles to the Grade 7 pupils. His visit was scheduled for 20 September.
During assembly, Past Sieberhagen briefly explained the purpose of his visit. The pupils sang gospel songs as welcoming and thereafter Zulu and Afrikaans Bibles were handed out to the Grade 7s.
Past Sieberhagen was impressed with the school and what the teachers accomplish there. He also committed himself to visiting the school annually to bring Bibles and reading material to the pupils.
