Osizweni Primary shares day with Children of Hope

“We call them the Children of Hope as we want to encourage the children to be able to reach their dreams.”

SECUNDA – Children of Hope orphans who attend eMzinoni Primary School are seen as special learners by the teachers.

The project to help the Children of Hope was launched in 2013 and is a way to help the children to take a break during the exams and also to make sure they have food to eat.

On Wednesday, 23 November the principal of eMzinoni Primary School, Mr Johannes Zondo, brought the learners to a park in Secunda for a braai.

The teachers sponsor food and money, among others, out of their own pockets for these learners’ needs.

Mr Zondo said: “It has been my dream to change the lives of children and to teach them and help them grow.

“Over the years I have achieved my goal of being able to help as many children as I can to become educated and be able to chase after there dreams.

“The prayer group wanted to do something good for the community and when we read the Bible, it became clear that God blesses those who look after the orphans.

“We decided to help the children who needed us and to call them the Children of Hope as all of them have dreams and deserve to be given the chance to achieve those goals.”
