Municipality working to restore power to Secunda

A faulty cable at a sub-station in Secunda has left most of the town without power.

SECUNDA – A cable fault at the main sub-station supplying electricity to Secunda has resulted in the majority of the town, with the exclusion of Sunset Park being without electricity since early this morning.

The municipality has shifted the load to an alternative sub-station for now and are implementing lead shedding throughout town in an attempt to minimise disruption to residents while maintenance teams are working on the problem.

As soon as the problem at the faulty sub-station has been resolved, there will be a soft switch-over back to the main sub-station that may interrupt electricity supply for a short while.
