Court issues requests to Sassa to divulge details
The court demanded answers by Monday, 13 March at 4pm.
The Constitutional Court issued a request to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) to divulge when it realised it would not be able to pay welfare grants by itself and would instead renew its contract with Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).
The contract, which was found invalid in 2014, is set to expire on 31 March.
The court demanded answers by Monday, 13 March at 4pm.
They also want a copy, if any, of an agreement with CPS as regards the payment of grants to make sure it adheres to the Constitution and procurement laws.
