SACP remembers fallen heroes
As a result, a memorial lecture on Joe Slovo was held at the social centre
The South African Communist Party (SACP) Lekwa sub-district has decided to remember all its fallen heroes.
The remembrance will be based on their contribution to the struggle of the working class, the poor and the people of South Africa, Africa and the world.
As a result, a memorial lecture in honour of Joe Slovo was held at the social centre in Sakhile on 5 March.
Slovo was an active member of the SACP and also contributed to the drafting of the Freedom Charter.
He was one of the founding members of Umkhonto weSizwe (the spear of the nation) armed wing of the ANC.

The SACP has decided to revive their campaign, which deals with land reform.
According to them, all the memorial lectures will focus on land ownership in the Lekwa sub-district.
They said it does not only include private ownership, but public land ownership as well.
The party also said they are aware of land belonging to the government and that land audits were conducted, but the outcomes are not assisting in the fight against informal settlement in the local municipality.
According to them, they will give this issue the necessary attention it deserves.
The SACP wants to have more engagements with the community and also plans to march against farm evictions on 7 April.
