Mpumalanga Premier commits 1000 RDP houses
He committed to build 1000 RDP houses as a start for the community of 6000 families that relied mainly on working at the mines
Mpumalanga Premier, David Mabuza has committed to building 1000 RDP houses for the Louisville mining community living close to the now closed Lily Mine in Barberton.
Mabuza visited the area and held a two-hour long meeting with the local community where he expressed their dissatisfaction about the lack of government services and economic activities.
He committed to build 1000 RDP houses as a start for the community of 6000 families that relied mainly on working at the mines.
Premier Mabuza said the houses would be built until 2019. The project would also open job opportunities to the local people as the premier said he wants local people to be the ones paving the local roads, doing maintenance of the available and dilapidated infrastructure built by the former KaNgwane Government such as clinics and schools.
