Evander residents up in arms about drug dealings in town
“Operations are being conducted by the crime prevention members, crime intelligent and the cluster, but without information from the community we cannot win this battle.”
Residents complaining about the selling of drugs in Evander town went viral last week.
This came after the police had a successful Easter operation in the area during which they confiscated illegally sold liquor in Enkomeni settlements.
Residents commended the police for the successful operation, but were concerned about drug dealing in the library area that is apparently the hub for the selling of drugs.
They blamed Evander Police for not doing enough to curb the selling of drugs in the area.
Some drug dealers are renting houses and business buildings in the town and that is where most of the drug dealings are taking place.
