PE Maziya Primary School in Leandra receives 150 bicycles

Mr Nkosi added that the bicycles are not for leisure or racing, but for transporting learners to school.

PE Maziya Primary School learners were excited when they received bicycles from the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport.

The school principal, Mr Hloniphile Nkosi, said learners who had to walk 3km and more to get to school, will now arrive on time.

He encouraged the learners to make sure they use the bicycles safely and look after them.

Mr Nkosi added that the bicycles are not for leisure or racing, but for getting to school.

Altogether 150 learners received bicycles, helmets and pumps.

Mr Themba Nyathi, member of the school governing body, said they will make sure the learners are aware of the safety precautions needed when they ride their bicycles on the road.
