[CONFIRMED] No agreement reached between Eskom and Govan Mbeki Municipality yet

Although according to some residents an agreement with Eskom was reached, the spokesperson of Eskom, Mr Khulu Phasiwe, said negotiations went well but no agreement was reached.

According to Ms Ena van Rooyen, DA Councillor, the municipality had a meeting with Eskom on Friday and they verbally agreed not to cut the power, but the municipality does not have this in writing yet.

She said the municipality will meet with Eskom again this Friday and request a written agreement.
