A well-known eMbalenhle businessman was arrested by the Hawks for alleged fraud recently.
Mr William Vusimuzi Moses Kgomu (53), a director of E1 Gondor Trading Security Company (Pty) (Ltd), has been arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Unit on 13 February for alleged fraud.
He allegedly deducted over R270 000 from his employees and failed to submit the funds to the Provident Fund Scheme.
When the company shut down in 2017, the employees discovered that no money was due to them, because they were never registered for the fund.
Mr Kgomu appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and was granted bail of R2 000.
