Local businesses send school buses packing

"We are fighting for all Standerton businesses, but that does not mean the learners should not have transport."

Local business people made sure government bus services were interrupted on 19 February and escorted a total of 18 Mpumalanga Scholar Transport buses back to Ermelo.

Altogether 13 buses, that were operating in Standerton, and five in Morgenzon, were affected.

It was an extension of local businesses demanding preference in tenders and business.

“We will clean out all outside businesses who are benefiting from the Standerton economy,” they said.

Magogogo Passenger Services, who has transported learners for more than a decade, filled in the gap and transported them.

“We are fighting for all Standerton businesses, but that does not mean the learners should not have transport.”
