Tenants of Tsalanang Flats have called for Govan Mbeki Municipality to intervene immediately to solve the never ending problems between them and the Govan Mbeki Housing Company (GMHC).
The tenants’ task team said Council could avert a potential gloomy situation that “might spiral into an uncontrollable time bomb”.
“We have been exposed to the wrath of GMHC, the illegally appointed Section 21 company, for far too long.”
Mr Xaba, task team member, said they seek clarity on the role of the company in the administration of the complex.
“Why does this company remain contracted to the Govan Mbeki Municipality despite its shortcomings when it comes to the administration of Tsalanang?
“We demand that the municipality addresses the tenants’ concerns over maladministration practices.
“GMHC must produce a valid copy of their accreditation certificate in order to verify its legitimacy in as far as their administration of Tsalanang is concerned.
“The sheriff impounded the tenants’ belongings and these must be returned immediately and without any conditions.
