Lekwa municipal employees refused to go back to work on 7 March over safety concerns.
The municipal manager, Ms Gugulethu Mhlongo-Ntshangase, and employees were locked in a meeting regarding disruption of duties, following the businesses protest.
Local businesses have been closing most, if not all, Lekwa offices since 1 March, alleging gross corruption.
In an almost two hour meeting, Ms Ntshangase tried to allay workers’ fears and said they should get back to work.
