Man pleads guilty after sexually assaulting his 13-year-old cousin

SECUNDA – An 18-year-old man was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment suspended for four years for sexual assault.
He was sentenced in the Secunda Regional Court on Monday, 5 March.
The man sexually assaulted his 13-year-old cousin at a family member’s party last year.
The victim said she was sleeping when she felt somebody taking off her pants.
The man inserted his fingers into her vagina. She saw it was her cousin and kicked him off her. He fell off the bed and left the room.
The man pleaded guilty when he appeared in court.
The Family Violence, Sexual Offence and Child Protection Unit investigated the case.
